Job description

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Superintendent with an excellent project management and technical understanding to provide support to our project Midia Gas Development (MGD).

Role scope

  • To ensure that the equipment and onshore/offshore facilities of the company are maintained adequately in accordance with the relevant internal technical standards and regulations in order to enable them to be used in accordance with the operating procedures, statutory requirements.
  • To manage and control the Maintenance Department (onshore/ offshore) so as to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of all plant, machinery and emergency equipment.
  • To ensure the Permit to Work (PTW) system is adhered to and that all isolations are in compliance with the company Isolation Philosophy.

Activities:

  • Provide support and Installation specific advice to the Construction & Commissioning, Reservoir Engineering and Drilling/Well Ops departments during the project execution phase
  • Prepare and propose the asset planning process for short / mid / long term planning of maintenance and intervention activities
  • Implement as per plan maintenance activities and manage all contractor and subcontractors to ensure timely execution and in the limits of approved budget
  • Prepare, monitor and control budgets for the Maintenance Department
  • Manage, administer and control the Facility’s Computerized Maintenance Management System
  • Lead Continuous Improvement by developing, standardizing, and/or supporting Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Provide the OIM with advice and information in an emergency and assist in the co-ordination of emergency response.
  • Manage the maintenance and records of safety critical elements and ensure performance standards required by the Verification scheme with respect to plant and machinery are met
  • Manage spare parts storage and preservation and ensure timely ordering and requisitions of all materials and ensure availability at all times
  • Technical responsibility for all mechanical and electrical systems
  • Maintain the facilities and equipment to the highest appropriate standards and in a state of readiness
  • Complete all test and inspection routines required by the Planned Maintenance system
  • Maintain the facilities certificates up to date
  • Maximize the ability of plant and equipment and optimize control of spares and follow up on delivery.
  • Supervise electrical maintenance in conjunction with the Responsible Person Electrical.
  • Manage machinery monitoring to ensure compliance with operating parameters
  • Manage and control the repair of plant and machinery after failure
  • Be responsible for structural maintenance of the installation.
  • Implement and update policies and procedures and oversee the plant mechanical integrity program which includes: Vibration Analysis, RCFA, Oil Analysis, Infrared Analysis, Maintenance Workflow, and other developing reliability programs
  • Manage bunkering, ensuring: adequate stocks of bunker oils, all other consumables oils, greases and fresh water at all times; conduct all bunkering operations in accordance with rules and regulations; Ensure that quality and quantity of bunkers received are in accordance with procedures; Ensure that lubricating oils in use are tested regularly in accordance with rules
  • Ensure that maintenance contractors are managed safely and effectively
  • Co-operate with the OIM and other departments, ensuring awareness of maintenance activities. 
  • Ensure that all maintenance personnel, service contractors and personnel involved in operations under the control of the Maintenance Department:
    • Are provided with adequate and suitable information.
    • Tasks are allocated to the various responsible and competent staff.
    • Carry out their work in a safe and responsible manner.
    • Adhere to requirements and provisions of the company management systems, including production operations procedures.
    • Participate in the effective monitoring, audit, and review of management systems and procedures, and to contribute to their further development where appropriate.
  • Ensure that all maintenance personnel:
    • Are familiar with company HSE policies
    • Understand their emergency response duties
    • Are aware of and follow the Facility Waste Management Plan
    • Carry out departmental risk management – hazard identification and risk control
    • Participate in the investigation of accidents and incidents, formulate reports and provide corrective actions as appropriate
    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports
    • Prepare outline plans for routine and non-routine activities
    • Maintain up to date the knowledge and skills by proposing the necessary learning and development programs, internal or external
  • Take responsibility for Departmental Safety Critical Operations e.g. bunkering fuel oil
  • Manage the Permit to Work program, including the preparation / issuance of permits, further site monitoring with respect to compliance to procedures and Permit to Work requirements
  • Identify and actively seek to improve maintenance reliability and availability
  • Maintain good housekeeping in conjunction with maintenance activities
  • Participate/Lead accident/incident investigations and to carry out statutory reporting requirements.
  • Be the focal point with relevant authorities / testing entities (e.g. ISCIR, INSEMEX, AACR etc.)
  • Monitor, record and check all relevant instruments according to metrological requirements
  • Always protect the reputation and interests of company. 

Experience & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years working experience in Oil & Gas industry, in a similar role, supporting production operations.
  • Degree or equivalent in Engineering/Science in an Electrical/Mechanical discipline
  • Experience in developing and managing annual work Programme & budget (WPB) for maintenance activities
  • The candidate must have proven track record in management of a technical support and/or engineering team with excellent supervisory, inter-personal relations and communication skills
  • Experience in plant Shutdowns for maintenance activities.
  • Experience in leading and conducting root cause analysis, complex risk assessment and continuous improvement process
  • Experience in leading internal technical audits
  • Experience in implementing preventative maintenance software
  • Trained in Risk Assessment Techniques, COSHH Assessor and Emergency response.
  • Valid BOSIET is an advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to conduct meetings, prepare reports, plans, and work instructions, and execute plans
  • Fluent in English both written and verbal.
  • Good IT Skills.
