Job description

Job brief:

We are looking for an experienced Project Cost Controller with an excellent cost management understanding of all disciplines to provide support to our project Midia Gas Development (MGD).

Job scope:

The Project Cost Controller will ensure Cost Management best practices are applied across all Projects, with high level of details, accuracy and precision, consistency and auditability, to enhance Projects status visibility and enable pro-active management decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate in the development and maintain Project Budget and Project Forecast from Final Investment Decision up to Project Completion
• Collaborate to the definition of the Project WBS/CBS/OBS
• Ensure alignment between WBS/CBS and the Finance accounting coding system
• Ensure costs are properly allocated to the correct budget codes/cost centres and support Finance on the cost allocation of invoices received and reconciliation
• Monitor and analyse variances, control productivity, ensuring best practices are consistently applied
• Periodically run forecast to complete in collaboration with the Project Team to identify any deviation from the budget and previous forecast
• Review Contractors/Vendors’ cost reports for approval of milestones/progress
• Control and maintain Commitments database
• Ensure work is performed in compliance with standard or agreed cost processes / procedures and documentation is always available for auditing purposes
• Review quantities and prices of contracts and purchase orders, assessing budget availability and correct cost allocation of the expenditure, prior to budget owner’s approval
• Review purchase requisitions, assessing budget availability, prior to budget owner’s approval
• Ensure control on budget transfers and change management
• Prepare regular internal and external project cost reports

• Collaborate in the preparation of Application for Expenditure requests and in the review of Variations Requests received from Contractors/Vendors, assisting the Project Manager in the evaluation of changes
• Liaise with Contractors and Vendors to ensure full compliance with reporting requirements
• Measure, control and report project progress with regards to the costs, highlighting any issues or areas of concern

Education and Qualification:

• 5+ years in the Oil & Gas, heavy engineer industry, manufacturing, diving/subsea preferred, on-shore and off-shore (as Project Controller, Project Cost Controller, Project Cost Engineer)
• Very good knowledge of Excel and Office package, experience on the use of Primavera and MS-Project is an advantage
• Engineering degree is preferable
• AACEI/APM/PMI/GPC Certification is an advantage
• Familiarity with large construction Projects (over 100M USD)
• Fluency in English (speaking and writing)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential
• Ability to prioritise, and manage time efficiently
• Accurate and precise attention to detail
• Goal-oriented and organised team player
