We are looking for an experienced Production Engineer with engineering expertise on operation and optimization of gas production and processing for our Midia Gas Development Project.

Role scope

  • Responsible monitoring & optimization of base gas production and the value maximization of wells, pipeline system, compression & gas plant facilities in collaboration with the Operations team.
  • This position of production engineer will be Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for production performance, short term (monthly or trimestral) production forecast STPF, production databases.

Activities:

  • Wells and facilities production optimization, monitoring and evaluation (from the completion to the compressor)
  • Maintaining, updating, and calibrating the integrated asset management system (Petex – GAP/Prosper/Mbal) with the real production data
  • Production analysis, including realized versus forecasted production; Production decline analysis; Nodal analysis; Debottlenecking analysis
  • Analyse measures for achieving the production targets (choke changes, compression parameters, etc.)
  • Maintain NAMR regulatory compliance and address all regulatory issues; Liaise with NAMR on production reporting
  • Complete and publish all daily/weekly/monthly production reports, as required
  • Update and publish the short term (monthly or trimestral) production forecast (STPF)
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness and accessibility of production data and reporting from the company production data base
  • Coordinate and participate in regular review meetings with Field Operations staff
  • Provide production engineering support to the technical/exploitation team and across project
  • Work with Field Operations to support and ensure that well and facility integrity management programs are maintained
  • If the case, coordinate new tie-ins with Field/Completions/Facilities/Third Parties
  • Assess facility and pipeline modifications to optimize production and profitability
  • Support delivery of production allocation and volume balance reports to management.
  • Originates, plans and reviews projects which may determine optimum methods in producing the field
  • Interpret field and individual well performance using the appropriate/latest technique to ensure optimum and economical production
  • Keep abreast of new technology and integrate innovative technology, to apply for production enhancement opportunities (AI, etc.)

Experience & Qualifications

  • BS/MSc Degree in Petroleum Engineering
  • 10 years professional experience in Production Engineering, preferably in offshore fields
  • Excellent working knowledge of production monitoring, optimization, and reporting
  • Good knowledge of offshore operations/facilities
  • Very good knowledge of the Petex IPM (GAP, Prosper, MBal) and of the underlying theoretical foundation: gas transport through pipelines, nodal analysis, multi-phase flow performance through tubulars (lift curves), material balance
  • Good knowledge of data analytics / data mining tools (like TIBCO’s Spotfire) and of Petex OpenServer is a plus
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English (fluency in Romanian is a plus)
  • Strong analytical approach in solving complex technical problems within a multi-disciplined environment.
  • Strong technical writing skills and presentation skills are required. Excellent skills in MS Excel and Databases.
